“Summer Solstice” (also called “aestival summer”, or “aestival solstice”, or “Midsummer”)
is an annual planetary event, noticed by everyone throughout the world, this
year occurring on June 20th –
an instance which marks the longest day of the year, as well as the beginning
of lengthening nights & shortening days.
Solstice occurs when one of the Earth’s poles has its maximum tilt toward the Sun (this happening twice a year, once in each hemisphere).
