Group celebration – ROMANIA’s NATIONAL DAY 2022

 ~ A yearly Romanian socio-cultural evening featuring Romania's National Day ~
On December 1, 2022 I was truly happy to be able to organize a
small festive reunion featuring Romania’s National Day, and (for everybodys convenience) the on-line option was chosen. The program of the evening began with the Romanian Anthem (since the focus of the meeting was the Romania’s National Day), followed by the Canadian Anthem (since this is the country we all live in these days)…
quietly listening to those familiar notes brought along a warmness, elegantly refreshing a beautiful sense of belonging.
Then, I presented my guests a short video I’ve prepared for this occasion, and for your enjoyment here it is...
Also, I would like to mention that today (December 1, 2022), on Romania’s National Day, UNESCO has decided to inscribe the Romanian traditional blouse on their list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity…please follow the links below for a more detailed reading about this significant gesture…thank you!

Next, my dear friend Dorina read us a material called “The 10 commandments of the Romanian people” – fragment from a newspaper from October 5, 1930
(Ro: “Cele 10 porunci ale poporului Rom
ân” – fragment dintr-un ziar din 5 Octombrie 1930), document which is fully published in the comments section.
Needless to say that after so long, those concepts are truer than ever!
Furthermore, she wrote an article about our homeland, which was published by “Observatorul Magazine”, from Toronto, and that link is here.
Also, under our section of “Famous Romanians”, as we proudly do each year, Dorina recapped George Enescu’s contribution to our culture (1881-1955, he was a well-known Romanian composer, violonist, pianist, conductor and teacher, regarded as Romania's most important musician, and one of the world's greatest composers of the 20th century, as well as one of the greatest performers of his time)For your delight, here are two of Enescu’s compositions: “Rapsodia Română” and “Baladă pentru vioară”…few moments of classical music…enjoy!

Additionally, Dorina’s beautiful presentation reminded us that Bucharest (the capital city of Romania), around 1900 was called the “Little Paris”, because of its elegant architecture (mostly built in the period between the two World Wars), but also “for the fact that locals greeted each other in French, wearing the latest Paris fashions, and would frequently travel to and study in France’s capital”.
For your reference on Bucharest, here are few articles of general interest…enjoy this documentative reading!

Further, our dear friend Aura, shared her views about the life of a Romanian in Canada and then reminded us all about a well-known political figure who descended from her town (the place where she was borne)….his name is August Treboniu Laurian (1810 – 1881; he was a politician, historian, linguist, a revolutionary and one of the founding members of the Romanian Academy)Aura also referred to a beautiful poem written by Bogdan Petriceicu Haşdeu (1838 – 1907).

While at this page, I would like to expand a bit more “The Famous Romanians” section, and for your reference here are few additional names of interest:
- Gheorghe Bibescu (1804 –1873) was a prince of Wallachia, between 1843 and 1849; his rule coincided with the revolutionary tide that culminated in the 1848, with the Wallachian revolution.
- Barbu Dimitrie Știrbei (1799 – 1869) was a member of the Bibescu family. In 1836 he was given the administration of the Justice Department, where he set up a new commercial code, based on the Napoleonic model, and improved the criminal and civil procedures of the country.
- Nicolae Bălcescu (1819 – 1852) was a Romanian Wallachian, soldier, historian, journalist and lider of the 1848 Wallachian Revolution.
- Constantin Brâncuși  (1876 – 1957) was a Romanian sculptor, painter and photographer who made his career in France. Considered one of the most influential sculptors of the 20th-century and a pioneer of modernism, Brâncuși is called the patriarch of modern sculpture.
- Nicolae Iorga (1871 – 1940) was a Romanian historian, politician, literary critic, memoirist, Albanologist, poet and playwright. He served as the member of the Romanian Parliament, President of the Deputies’ Assembly and the Senate, cabinet minister and briefly (1931 – 1932) as Prime Minister. A child prodigy, polymath and politologue, Iorga produced an unusually large body of scholarly works, establishing his international reputation as a medievalist, Byzantinist, Latinist, Slavist, as historian and philosopher of history. Holding reaching positions at the University of Bucharest, the Unversity of Paris and several other academic institutions, Iorga was the founder of the International Congress of Byzantine Studies and the Institute of South-East European Studies (ISSEE). His activity also included the transformation of "Vălenii de Munte" town into a cultural and academic center. Iorga has the five-generations-boyar status, received from his father’s side, and the “old boyar” roots from his mother (the Miclescu family), with having turned him into a political man. Based on his parallel studies, his is being related with noble Romanian families, such as the Cantacuzinos and the Craiovesti.
- Barbu Ștefănescu Delavrancea (1858 – 1918) was a Romanian writer and poet, considered one of the greatest figures in the National awakening of Romania.
He was also a former mayor of Bucharest.
- Octavian Goga (1881 – 1938) was a Romanian politician, poet, playwright, journalist and translator. He was also the Prime Minister of Romania.
- Ion Ghica (1816 – 1897) was a Romanian statesman, mathematician, diplomat and politician, who was Prime Minister of Romania five times. He was a full member of the Romanian Academy and its president many times (1876–1882, 1884–1887, 1890–1893 and 1894–1895). He was the older brother and associate of Pantazi Ghica, a prolific writer and politician.
- Mihail Kogălniceanu (1817 – 1891) was a statesman, lawyer, historian and publicist; he became Prime Minister of Romania on October 11, 1863, after the 1859 union of the Danubian Principalities under the “Domnitor” Alexandru Ioan Cuza, and later served as Foreign Minister under Carol I. He was several times Interior Minister under Cuza and Carol. A polymath, Kogălniceanu was one of the most influential Romanian intellectuals of his generation.
- C. A. Rosetti (1816 – 1885) was a Romanian literary and political leader, born in Bucharest into the princely Rosetti family. He was also the Mayor of Bucharest.
- Vasile Alecsandri (1821 – 1890) was a Romanian patriot, poet, dramatist, politician and diplomat. He was one of the key figures during the 1848 revolutions in Moldavia and Wallachia. He fought for the unification of the Romanian Principalities, writing "Hora Unirii" in 1856 and giving up his candidacy for the title of prince of Moldavia, in favor of Alexandru Ioan Cuza. He became the first minister of foreign affairs of Romania and was one of the founding members of the Romanian Academy. Alecsandri was a prolific writer, contributing to Romanian literature with poetry, prose, several plays, and collections of Romanian folklore, being considered, alongside Mihai Eminescu, which admired and was inspired by the writings of Alecsandri, as one of the most important Romanian writers in the second half of the 19th century.
- Lucian Blaga (1895 – 1961) was a Romanian philosopher, poet, playwright, poetry translator, novelist, journalist, university professor, diplomat and member of the Romanian Academy.  He was a commanding personality of the Romanian culture of the interbellum period.
- Emil Cioran (1911 – 1995) was a Romanian philosopher, aphorist and essayist, who published works in both Romanian and French. His work has been noted for its pervasive philosophical pessimism, style, and aphorisms. His works frequently engaged with issues of suffering, decay, and nihilism. In 1937, Cioran moved to the Latin Quarter of Paris, which became his permanent residence, wherein he lived in seclusion, until his death in 1995.
- Mircea Eliade (1907 – 1986) was a Romanian historian of religion, fiction writer, philosopher, and professor at the University of Chicago. He was a leading interpreter of religious experience, who established paradigms that persist to this day. Few of his literary works belong to the fantastic and autobiographical genres. The best known are the novels “Maitreyi” ('La Nuit Bengali' or 'Bengal Nights'), “Noaptea de Sânziene” ('The Forbidden Forest'),  and “Romanul Adolescentului Miop” ('Novel of the Nearsighted Adolescent'); the novellas “Domnișoara Christina” ('Miss Christina') and “Tinerețe fără tinerețe” ('Youth Without Youth'); and the short stories “Secretul doctorului Honigberger” ('The Secret of Dr. Honigberger') and “La Țigănci” ('With the Gypsy Girls'). Noted for his vast erudition, Eliade had fluent command of five languages (Romanian, French, German, Italian, and English) and a reading knowledge of three others (Hebrew, Persian, and Sanskrit). He was elected a posthumous member of the Romanian Academy.

Following the beautiful presentations of the evening, the other guests came along with lots of personal remarks as well as dear memories emphasizing that no matter how far one travels from home, the roots will always play a special role.

As usual, the time we spent together was pleasing, and once again I was truly grateful to be able to offer my friends another occasion to create new memories!
In closing, I’m sending along a big ‘THANK YOU!’ to all my guests who were able to honor my invitation, wishing them again blessed & happy winter holidays!

How did it get late so soon?!

Niccolo Paganini: “La campanella” (classical music)

I have no doubt that as we get older many of us observe time differently; for some people time can race, or it can drag interminably, and in rare situations, it feels as if it stands still.
Sometimes, the difference between the time measured by clocks or calendars and our own perception seems to be enormous, which leads us to believe that indeed we are the true architects of our ‘sense’ of time.
With that in mind, I believe that’s helpful to ponder upon some timeless concepts, while we walk the path of life….here are few thoughts…
- Carefully choose priorities in life; look for meaningful references (instead of trendy ones) & live by them
- Seek to stay near wise people if you wish to become like them; “madmen” could be spectacular, frothy, interesting, but their spectacularity lasts as long as the bubbles of champagne (don’t count on them)
- Read, observe, analyze; you do that to train yourself, not just to be informed; weather you use what you’ve learned in school or not, it is less significant…what really matters is what you’ve  became
- Be modest and humble; the light inside you just needs to be shown, not trumpeted (in darkness it will illuminate, anyway)
- Respect your parents and teachers; whatever you might consider, on their shoulders you grew up
- Have Faith…this is the only absolute in a vast ocean of relative
- Last, but not least, take care of your health when you still have it, otherwise when you don't have it anymore you would need to take care of your illness (how sardonic!).
“How did it get so late so soon?  /   It’s night before it’s afternoon.
December is here before it’s June.  /  My goodness how the time has flown!
How did it get so late so soon?” (Dr.  Seuss)

November 11, 2022: REMEMBRANCE Day

Another November 11th is bringing forward the “Remembrance Day(also known as the “Veterans’ Day” or the “Memorial Day”).
This is the day to pay a renewed tribute to all those who have fallen in the military service of their country.
Collectively we stand to honor our heroes and their sacrifices to defend our values and freedoms. Lest we forget.

Alice’s Book Club – AUTUMN session of 2022

Special edition – live session with writer & painter Pnina Granirer
~ exclusively for ALICE & Friends Circle ~
With great joy I’m sharing that on Friday (October 28’22) we had a pleasant group conversation with my dear friend, writer and well-known painter, visual artist Pnina Granirer (for your quick reference, in the comments section is Pnina’s short  biography, and here is her website: www.pninagranirer.com), discussing author’s perspective on her book called ”LIGHT WITHIN THE SHADOWS – A Painter’s memoir” (in case you wish to have this book, here is the link  where you can procure it from; additionally, it might be also found in Indigo stores in Vancouver, or if you wish only to read it you could borrow it from a public library).
This on line event constituted the autumnal edition of my seasonal book club series, happening only 4 times per year.
At my suggestion, given her impressive life experience, Pnina was very kind to agree to share with us her views on resilience, achievements, focus and positivity – aspects of inspirations for many. Our evening together was interactive and the audience had interesting questions of general interest so all guests could benefit from the answers received. I was super happy to have 36 people registered for this event, but since few of them couldn’t make it for objective reasons, I provided them with the recording of Pnina’s presentation.
Also, I would like to refresh that artist Pnina Granirer has been featured at one of my past literary gatherings, back in November 2019 (for your enjoyment, here is the link of the occasion I’m referring to).
For your reference, here is an overview of Pnina’s book, as it has been circulated by different publishing houses:
Light Within the Shadows is a lively and moving memoir that chronicles Pnina Granirer’s life as an artist, wife and mother. Conceived as a play in three acts, it begins in her hometown in Romania, moves to its second act in Israel, and concludes with her life in North America. It encompasses her years in Romania, Israel, the USA, France and Canada, and her travels to Japan, Spain and Mexico, all of which inform her understanding of the world which is then reflected in her art.
Besides producing art and preparing for gallery shows, she is committed to educating her community about art. In 1993, Granirer co-foounded the on-going Artists in Our Midst, the first open studios walk in Vancouver.
In this compelling memoir, Granirer shares her successes and failures, addressing issues of dislocation, ‘otherness’ and uprooted soul’s wish for permanency. With determination and resilience, amidst the joys and restrictions of family life, Granirer created a large body of art, ignoring trends and searching for renewal.
She became an internationally respected artist whose profound work is an enduring expression of the search for beauty and spirituality. Her works are found in museums collections in Canada, Spain, Chile and Israel.
Light Within the Shadows gives and inside view of how art is forged and released into the world. Granirer’s work has been featured in two other books: Her own Trials of Eve (Gaea Press) and Portrait of an Artist, by Ted Lindbert (Ronsdale Press).”
Our time together flew by very quickly and we adjourned in a lovely note, concluding that resilience, kindness, focus and positivity are significant aspects of existence able to take one far in life.
Since this was the last book club session of the year, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all those loyal, dear friends who each time (not just occasionally) make  themselves available to honor my invitations, and who genuinely & continuously are supporting the activities of ALICE & Friends Circle™.
Until our paths will meet again, my best regards to all!

September 21, 2022: INTERNATIONAL PEACE Day

A new September 21st arrived, reminding us that today is the International Peace Day (also known as the “World Peace Day”), which constitutes another inspiring occasion for all to celebrate PEACE. The chosen theme for this year is: "End racism. Build peace." Let's give PEACE a new chance!
"It is not enough to win a war; it is more important to organize the peace." (Aristotle)
● Historical background info:
“The International Day of Peace, also officially known as World Peace Day, is a United Nations-sanctioned holiday observed annually on 21 September.
It is dedicated to
world peace, and specifically the absence of war and violence, such as might be occasioned by a temporary ceasefire in a combat zone for humanitarian aid access. The day was first celebrated in 1981 and is kept by many nations, political groups, military groups, and people.” (Source: Encyclopedia)
● Excerpt (UNITED NATIONS – International Peace Day 2022):
Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on 21 September. The UN General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, through observing 24 hours of non-violence and cease-fire.
But achieving true peace entails much more than laying down arms.  It requires the building of societies where all members feel that they can flourish. It involves creating a world in which people are treated equally, regardless of their race.
As Secretary-General António Guterres has said:
“Racism continues to poison institutions, social structures, and everyday life in every society. It continues to be a driver of persistent inequality. And it continues to deny people their fundamental human rights. It destabilizes societies, undermines democracies, erodes the legitimacy of governments, and… the linkages between racism and gender inequality are unmistakable.”
The 2022 theme for the International Day of Peace is “End racism. Build peace.” We invite you to join the efforts of the United Nations as we work towards a world free of racism and racial discrimination. A world where compassion and empathy overcome suspicion and hatred. A world that we can truly be proud of.

Alice’s Book Club – SUMMER session of 2022

Before the warm season of the year reached its completion, on Friday (September 16’22), we had the summer session of my book club series, this time analyzing the book called “Stillness Speaks(written by Eckhart Tolle).
On this occasion, our online gathering was of a reasonable size and the atmosphere was abundantly filled with such a good cheer (in our midst), fact which brought along a pleasant sense of harmony, ease and joy.
Now, briefly speaking about this book: Eckhart Tolle (the author, who is a German-born resident of Canada, is also a teacher and an entrepreneur) shows “how to become your true self by embracing stillness and silence”. He also says: “When we are no longer limited by our thinking mind, suffering and pain disappear and we are able to move forward towards a new understanding of our relationships, of nature and of the profound wisdom that is to be found in stillness.”
The personal perspectives presented this evening were interesting, varied and filled with lots of insights.
For your reference, here are few concepts from the book, which might get your attention:
The equivalent of external noise is the inner noise of thinking. The equivalent of external silence is inner stillness.
When you lose touch with inner stillness, you lose touch with yourself. When you lose touch with yourself, you lose yourself in the world.
- “Most people spend their entire life imprisoned within the confines of their own thoughts. They never go beyond a narrow, mind-made, personalized sense of self that is conditioned by the past.”
- “What it doesn't say — but only points to — is more important than what it says.”
- “For most things in life, you need time: to learn a new skill, build a house, become an expert, make a cup of tea. . . . Time is useless, however, for the most essential thing in life, the one thing that really matters: self-realization, which means knowing who you are beyond the surface self — beyond your name, your physical form, your history, your story.
- “You cannot find yourself in the past or future. The only place where you can find yourself is in the Now.” ...and so on....
As usual, time was flying by fast & we wrapped up the evening in a very enjoyable manner, committed to continue with our reading as well as sharing in this setting.
Also, once again, much appreciation to those who were able & willing to join me this evening….their on going support motivates me to prepare for the next project.
Until next time, my best regards to each of you!
Alice

UNIQUENESS or the courage to be yourself

Being yourself in a world where everyone is trying to fit around, it takes courage; yes, that beautiful courage which allows you to stand out and be unique.
If we look around we can see that people have some traits, habits or personalities which can be unlike others, and it feels to me that this makes a person more interesting & fascinating at times. But, it is also noticeable that the most beautiful thing & at the same time the hardest thing to tolerate is some people's uniqueness.
Over time, it has been observed that some people don't have problems with their uniqueness, but with the uniqueness of the others (in some way, it bothers them).
For sure each of you’ve heard those more or less ‘silent’ comments….if s/he's not like me, s/he has particular flaws…if s/he were like me, s/he would have the same flaws as me (and that would be very hard to bear), and so on…anyways, sometimes it is very complicated to make sense of all the pointless noise.
"Iubire ar fi destulă, dar nu are loc printre atâtea orgolii înghesuite."
On the other hand, I truly believe that it is great to have friends who appreciate you for who you are, otherwise life without them would be like a dessert…life with good friends and honest relationships gives us joy, fulfillment, security, meaning, health. At times, some relationships are not easy to maintain due to some disturbing interferences, but good friends you care about are worth the price.
Aside of that, just imagine:
– What it would be like for a whole world to talk a lot…definitively it would be super tiring!
– Or let them all be silent …what boredom that would be!
– Let everyone be impulsive…for sure they would break their heads!
– May they all be visionaries of projects…who no longer get to see their fulfillment, unfortunately!
– If all would be extroverts…there would be no room for each other.
– Or if all would be introverts…a world where no one talks to anyone….and the list goes on ...
One of the wonderful things about human society is the diversity in gifts and abilities, but in order for those various gifts to fit into the final inlay they have to be sanded and processed first, don't they? This is not simple, but it makes sense.
Personally, I truly believe that in life it is important to be true to yourself & be who you are, so be different & dare to embrace yourself as you are...be one of a kind!

PLANNING or the thinking before doing

I have no doubt that at some point along the way, every individual must have asked himself or herself about the significance of planning, or weather to have a plan or not, and how big it could (or should) be, etc.…yes, lots of plans (short-term, midterm or long-term), involving a lot of soul searching, self-analysis, dreaming and thinking, strengths and weaknesses examination, all these being driven by personal goals, vision or ambitions! And as in life, some ambitions might be bigger than others.

Generally speaking, planning is very important because it guides you where you need to go, “it gives you directions and decreases the danger of risk by making predictions”.

On the other hand, I’m sure that you also have heard those laud dreamers planning to save the world, or to save a number of endangered species of plants and animals somewhere in Africa, or those who really want to inhabit Mars, transforming it into a lush and friendly planet, and so on. Beautiful big dreams
(nothing wrong with that), but when those special dreams are so far off their reality it could become very frustrating, and that could attract a lasting sense of worthlessness (which is a very unhealthy and damaging feeling).

So, what to do? Well, once upon a time someone intelligent suggested that by “starting to make your own bed in the morning” could be a good beginning, or before you manage to plant a forest somewhere on Mars, better take care of the flowers from your balcony or plant a tree in front of your house (and diligently water it to grow).
In a nutshell, what I’m saying here is that those humongous goals are great, but they could be accomplished with a good plan, only after you learned how to achieve the smaller ones close to you (those ‘slender’ goals which are right in front of you)
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry said a while back that “a goal without a plan is just a wish”. Making small and constructive changes to our immediate surroundings could bring upon a fresh sense of fulfillment, which leads to a great well-being…so, dear friends, during the journey, please stay healthy and…practical!

About LOVE & INTELLIGENCE

There are extensive studies in several fields of expertise indicating that love makes people more intelligent, and this is happening because our brains have a "love neural network" and a particular biochemistry that activates and increases a series of cognitive functions.
On the other hand, most elders of the world (from ancient times up to our days), claim in one voice that love makes better human beings.
Well, without any doubt, there is a lot to debate about these two vast subjects (love, respectively intelligence), but for the purpose of this brief assertion, mostly from a philosophical perspective, below I’m sharing with you several fragments of general interest…may you enjoy this reading!

ARTICLE:
~ Few excerpts ~
Intelligence is not separate from love ...
(by Jiddu Krishnamurti)
"Modern education, in developing the intellect, offers more and more theories and facts, without bringing about the understanding of the total process of human existence. We are highly intellectual; we have developed cunning minds, and are caught up in explanations. The intellect is satisfied with theories and explanations, but intelligence is not; and for the understanding of the total process of existence, there must be an integration of the mind and heart in action. Intelligence is not separate from love.
For most of us, to accomplish this inward revolution is extremely arduous. We know how to mediate, how to play the piano, how to write, but we have no knowledge of the mediator, the player, the writer. We are not creators, for we have filled our hearts & minds with knowledge, information & arrogance; we are full of quotations from what others have thought or said. But experiencing comes 1st, not the way of experiencing. There must be love before there can be the expression of it.
...
Information, the knowledge of facts, though ever increasing, is by its very nature limited. Wisdom is infinite, it includes knowledge and the way of action; but we take hold of a branch and think it is the whole tree. Through the knowledge of the part, we can never realize the joy of the whole. Intellect can never lead to the whole, for it is only a segment, a part.
We have separated intellect from feeling, and have developed intellect at the expanse of feeling.
We are like a three-legged object with one leg much longer than the others, and we have no balance. We are trained to be intellectual; our education cultivates the intellect to be sharp, cunning, acquisitive, and so it plays the most important role in our life. Intelligence is much greater than intellect, for it is the integration of reason and love; but there can be intelligence only when there is self-knowledge, the deep understanding of the total process of oneself.

What is essential for man, whether young or old, is to live fully, integrally, and that is why our major problem is the cultivation of that intelligence which brings integration. Undue emphasis on any part of our total make-up gives a partial and therefore distorted view of life, and it is this distortion which is causing most of our difficulties. Any partial development of our whole temperament is bound to be disastrous both for ourselves and for society, and so it is really very important that we approach our human problems with an integrated point of view.
To be an integrated human being is to understand the entire process of one's own consciousness, both the hidden and the open. This is not possible if we give due emphasis to the intellect. We attach great importance to the cultivation of the mind, but inwardly we are insufficient, poor and confused. This living in the intellect is the way of disintegration; for ideas, like beliefs, can never bring people together except in conflicting groups.
As long as we depend on thought as a means of integration, there must be disintegration; and to understand the disintegrating action of thought is to be aware of the ways of the self, the ways of one's own desire. We must be aware of our conditioning and its responses, both collective and personal. It is only when one is fully aware of the activities of the self with its contradictory desires and pursuits, its hopes and fears, that there is a possibility of going beyond the self.
Only love and right thinking will bring about true revolution, the revolution within ourselves. But how are we to have love? Not through the pursuit of the ideal of love, but only when there is no hatred, when there is no greed, when the sense of self, which is the cause of antagonism, comes to an end. A man who is caught up in the pursuits of exploitation, of greed, of envy, can never love.
Without love and right thinking, oppression and cruelty will ever be on the increase. The problem of man's antagonism to man can be solved, not by pursuing the ideal of peace, but by understanding the causes of war which lie in our attitude towards life, towards our fellow-beings; and this understanding can come about only through the right kind of education. Without a change of heart, without goodwill, without the inward transformation which is born of self-awareness, there can be no peace, no happiness for men. "
"Intelligence and love are not in separate compartments: love is rich in intelligence and intelligence is full of love." (J. Ratzinger)

Inspiration of the day: QUIETUDE

Ludwig van Beethoven: Silencio (classical music)
In the midst of everything, while ‘noise’ of any kind surrounds us we could easily get disconnected from ourselves to such an extent that we are not able to hear anymore that valuable inner voice
(so called by many, the inner voice of reason), which always contains the wisdom that we need to heal, to grow, and to put our thoughts together in order to further carry on with our journey (swiftly and joyfully).

Quietude is the only 'avenue' able to take us back within, where is peace, where is clarity, where is simplicity, where is the fundamental truth of life, we each need.
Many times we all search for answers and clarity, and more often than not, we are looking into the wrong direction for guidance.
In the current super consumerist society it could become a real challenge to go beyond the mind chattering in a consistent manner.

There are extensive studies explaining that only in silence people could focus and recognize the truth.
Only in a safe and calm environment we might be able to ‘shift’ from the outer into the inner world, where we could find peace, direction, sense, the needed healing & the meaningful answers that we mistakenly were looking for where else.
If you haven’t practice such recollection yet, I encourage you to take time to find your oasis of peace, while remembering: the quieter you become the more you can hear!
“Listen to the silence; it has so much to say.”

TIME is flying by very fast

Whether we realize it or not, time is a tremendously valuable treasure, and unfortunately so many people waste it foolishly in lots of meaningless activities.
Philosophers believe that if we would take care of time, other things would take care of themselves automatically.
The greatest figures of the history knew the value of time, so that’s is why they were able to leave remarkable footprints behind.
Generally speaking people want success, happiness, money, fame, etc., etc., but the records have shown that only those who make the best of their time could have many of these. We all grow in time, live in time, die in time, and that’s why every minute is so important. Nothing is more significant than time! As I've said before, time is more powerful than kings and princess
(who come and go)...time goes on eternally. Time is destiny, it is history, it is civilization. Nothing is beyond time! Time is way more precious than money. We identify time as birth, growth, decay and death, but time is neither a beginning nor an end. Time is forever. Everyone should appreciate the value of time and make good use of it, because time is an opportunity, and if it slips through our hands, we can’t bring it back so that’s why it is crucial to make sure we spend it wisely.
On the other hand, life is very short. It has been said by many that it is like a drop in the ocean, and this drop should not be wasted…it should be turned into a pearl by using it wisely and thoughtfully.
For your brief enjoyment, here is a short story shared by an intelligent woman, which I find appropriate to pass it on…peaceful reading, dear ones!

“I am no longer waiting for a special occasion; I burn the best candles on ordinary days.
I am no longer waiting for the house to be clean; I fill it with people who understand that even dust is part of life.
I am no longer waiting for everyone to understand me; it’s just not their task.
I am no longer waiting for the perfect kids; my children have their own names that burn as brightly as any star.
I am no longer waiting for the other shoe to drop; it already did, and I survived.
I am no longer waiting for the time to be right; the time is always now.
I am no longer waiting for the mate who will complete me; I am grateful to be so warmly and tenderly held.
I am no longer waiting for a quiet moment; my heart can be stilled whenever it is called.
I am no longer waiting for the world to be at peace; I unclench my grasp and breathe peace in and out.
I am no longer waiting to do something great; being awake to carry my grain of sand is enough.
I am no longer waiting to be recognized; I know that I could dance each time I choose to.
I am no longer waiting for Forgiveness; I offer it and move on.”
Life is short. Time is fast. No replay. No rewind. Enjoy every moment as it comes.
